what dread hand

When I first got into Heroes and, by proxy, some of its actors, one thing disturbed me. Guess who this is:

• was originally studying to follow in his father's footsteps
• accidentally stumbled over acting classes while doing so
• fell head over heels for acting, and went to drama school in London
• got married with an actress he met there and had a daughter
• entered the Royal Shakespeare Company after graduation
• starred in a certain TV series directed by Tom Clegg

One hint: not Sean Bean.

Although it fits, you know, to the letter. It's actually Sendhil Ramamurthy. Because I'd been (still am) a hard-core Bean fan before getting into Heroes, every time I read or saw an interview with SR I was boggling so hard at the similarities. When I saw the name "Tom Clegg" while looking at SR's IMDb page, I honestly thought someone was pulling a prank on me. Clegg is, to Bean fans, just synonymous with Bean's early carreer.

The Tom Clegg series SR was in is Ultimate Force, that one about the SAS starring Ross Kemp (the guy from EastEnders). I've been trying to watch it, and ... uh ... so far the only thing that's left an impression on me is that ... he has short hair in it. I just ... can't seem to get over that. He looks, like, 16. It's horrible. Can it be that my love for Sendhil Ramamurthy has been all about the hair? That can't be true, it's also about the voice and the hands. But ... gah. I miss those curls, dammit!

I'll try to watch it again some other time, I guess.

I want from Mohinder:
• noseblood
• marks (of any kind)
• snark
• vomiting
• nipples

Three out of five. I'm a fairly satisfied fangirl.

I don't want from Sylar:
• a father who beat him up
• classmates who bullied him
• the cheerleader who dumped him cruelly
• the small animals he killed as a kid
• return of the fug-ugly Gabriel haircut

I was thinking about why Mohinder returned to his apartment in 1x19.

(Disregarding the fact that originally, Sylar was supposed to have fallen out the window.)

I briefly toyed with the idea that he may have gone back as a death wish, feeling so guilty about Peter that he was hoping Sylar would be waiting to finish him, but I don't really see Mohinder being the type of person who would even entertain the idea of suicide -- not in the sense that I think he'd consciously refuse to do it, but more in the sense that it probably wouldn't occur to him to begin with.

Let's think about it. What options does he have at that point, anyway?
• Go back
  - Sylar is still unconscious, kill him
  - Sylar isn't there, free out of jail card
  - Sylar is there, back to square one except the list is already gone
• Run, and hope that
  - Sylar doesn't want to find him (could happen)
  - Sylar won't find him (highly unlikely)
• Find someone who will help him
  - call the company
  - (... he has no other friends, dammit)

I dunno. Would I seem crazy if I said I'd have gone back, too? It's not like there are that many options left. If Sylar wants to find him, Sylar will; if Sylar doesn't want to find him, what difference does it make where he is. I might have called the company before I went back, if I had the number; maybe Eric Roberts sent some men to check whether Sylar was still there before they ventured inside.

Why does the man keep asking for it?

• He thinks it's funny. (In a "lol fans" way.)
• He thinks it's funny. (In a "lol badfic" way.)
• He thinks it's hot. (I DON'T WANT TO GO THERE EW.)
• He thinks it'll boost his popularity. (Whore.)
• He desperately wants Sylar to make out with Mohinder, and is sending subtle hints to the writers and producers. (Again, ew.)

• He's nutters.

Personally, I'd like to go with a combination of the first and the last.

A co-worker was telling me how to make udon.

1. Mix flour with water and a pinch of salt into a dough.
2. Put the dough in plastic bags, three-fold.
3. STEP ON IT.
4. Roll up and cut with a pizza slicer.

And I was like "OMGWTFBBQ" and she was like "INORITE" and I was like "WTF GONNA MAKE NAO" except I forgot the ratio of flour to water. Oh well.

I have five days off from today. It's probably the first time this summer ... well, except that obligatory family vacation.

I think I might re-watch all Mohinder scenes of season two this weekend. But first, off to work. Though I really, honestly feel like shit. Wah.

P.S. Can Mohinder/Maya be canon soon? I'm not even asking for a full-on Nathan/Jessica scene (THOUGH HAHAHA I SURE WOULDN'T OBJECT), holding hands is fine! They can start there and move up, and kiss in season five on their wedding night.

P.P.S. Why is Pushing Daisies so good? And Chuck/Olive so cute? It's impossibly cute.

P.P.P.S. I feel so much like shit that canned coffee actually tastes good. I haven't enjoyed canned coffee since I was seven and actually living in Japan and ergo did not know any fucking better. Scary.

The trick is still to not think of it as coffee, but rather as a milk-and-sugar drink with added aroma.

The space key on my keyboard is busted so I can't press on either of its ends. This is fucking up my typing speed considerably since I have to take it into consideration all the while I type. Gah.

I need a new rule of life. "Don't post fic/art/icons/macros/whatever when I'm manic." Problem being I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN I'M BEING MANIC AND NOT.
