As fans will know Zachary Quinto once had a recurring role in 24 season 3 as Adam Kaufman, and some time ago I bought the DVDs cheaply and have been slaving my way through it in deep agony. Because shit, can a TV show get any worse than this, seriously? I didn't even mean to cap anything from it, but then in episode ... eh, I don't even remember, 20 or something? ZQ had a tiny little plotpoint to himself in which he got to be teary-eyed, and Ela said she wanted caps.

I frankly don't think Zachary Quinto is objectively pretty even on his best days. I don't mean to say I don't find ZQ attractive, because I do, but I think ZQ is just not so much handsome as he's quirky and charming, I guess. His Sasan was completely lovable and I adored him although I normally dispise the "gay BFF" cliché, because Sasan's personality was just generally adorable and suited him, and the role meant ZQ could laugh and be snarky and generally funny. Adam Kaufman, however, is not very charming or quirky. The nature of the series means he's seeeeeeerious all the time, doesn't get to wear funny clothes, doesn't smile (sardistically or snarkily or cutely or otherwise), and as a result, Adam is definitely one of ZQ's worse days in my opinion. But anyway ...

The plot. Basically there are some terrorists who have a virus and it's been spread to the population. Chloe (some computer tech girl) has just found out that Adam's sister has been infected, so she tells Tony (their boss) about it and he goes to Adam to pass the bad news on.

I originally just meant to cap one of his outfits from this show, namely a shirt so ugly Mohinder wouldn't be caught dead in it, but then as I watched the show again to cap it, I saw that Sasan (ZQ's character) actually had a lovely wardrobe and I thought it unfair to represent it only with that one shirt.

I knew that Heroes would become a gigantic fandom along the way, but I'm getting apprehensive. I'm not sure I could handle another X-Files or LotRips. It's a good thing I'm peripheral.

I'm astounded there's so little wank about this in the comments. The mild snark and pointing out that KB is engaged aside, no one is jumping the people who are saying they make a cute couple, and on the other hand no one is jumping the people who more or less subtly declare he bats for the other team.

Unreleated, Z!NK informs me that a series starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will premiere on US TV this fall. Whoa, I had no idea! (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is Paul Bettany's boyfriend and starred with him in movies like Wimbledon and Firewall. He also played Ewan McGregor's role in the original Nightwatch. And was very gay with Mads Mikkelsen -- the villain of Casino Royale -- in a movie called Wildside.) Good for him, certainly.

ETA: Randomly Googling Mohinder in Japanese, I found someone who actually went to the press conference in Tokyo. Apparently, it wasn't just Masi who got carried by the sumo wrestler (I have no idea who the wrester was), but Greg and Ali begged to be carried, too. Greg ... was put down fairly quickly.

Official site updated a whole bunch. There's one wallpaper design I'd never seen before, but that might just be me. I think they're going to translate the graphic novels, but none up yet. The character map confused me; Janice is a cop? I thought she was a lawyer or attorney. But oh yay, the voice actors are up.

I've known for a while that they'd be broadcasting some behind the scenes, but now that I actually know some people from heroes_tv live in Japan, I might post a request to see if they can tape it. I mean, it says they'll follow the cast during their stay in Tokyo! But it's in October, so I think I'll wait a bit.

I found probably the first piece of Japanese Heroes fanart a few days ago. The artist shipped Petrellicest before even seeing the show. Well, it sort of figures ...

It appears that after having been blaaaaaaaaaaah about Heroes and seeking refuge in Chuck, Pushing Daisies, and Dexter, I got my Heroes funk back in full force.

Because I had this long dream about Zachary Quinto in which we hung out. Not doing anything particularly interesting, mind. I remember we played cards. And he told me when he lived in [somewhere undefined in the dream, but I suppose he'd have said Ireland], he used to play solitaire all the time and had 20 (!) decks of cards lying around that he was trying to solve. Then someone called him up and offered to drive him to the Mediterranean, and he accepted, and I saw him off at a dock.

Yeah.

It was an odd dream, bordering on a nightmare, because in my mind ZQ is cool while I'm not, which gave me an overwhelming sense of inadequacy and self-consciousness.

In completely different news, there's this one thing I thought of yesterday that I'd love love love to be able to do for Christmas, but I'm not sure I could manage it with that deadline. I'd need focus. Which, uh, I don't have. I'll try, though!

Honest, I made the mistake to look at an icon post yesterday which contained anti-Mohinder sentiments and I was irrationally blue, and -- wait, I'm talking about Mohinder again. Stop. My point was merely that the cast is making me feel all better again, so yay!

Just when we thought Zachary Quinto couldn't be any dorkier, he is. That's sort of amazing. But where is Greg? Had I only fooled myself into thinking he'd be there? Woe.

When the whole "is Zach gay?" (not Quinto, the other one) debacle was happening, I read about Thomas Dekker saying it wasn't that he minded playing a gay character, seeing as he'd played one several times including when he was twelve. My mind went "wtf" at this, but it turns out he wasn't lying: in 2000 Dekker had a guest spot on Grosse Pointe playing Leslie Chupak, a gay boy who is the biggest fan of one of the male stars of the teen drama they're shooting on the show, and won an essay contest where the big prize is a date with said male star, Johnny.

And he's freaking adorable.

There's a hilarious news item on the actors of the new Trek, but that's not really what I want to talk about, what I want to talk about is the pic accompanying it.

THEY'RE LIKE TWO DIFFERENT SPECIES. HOW CAN TWO HUMAN BEINGS LOOK SO DIFFERENT. WHAT THE FUCK.
